The name “Corner House” came into being after owner-managers Ross Lawson and Helen Hunter took over the restaurant and gave it a much needed facelift in June 2012.

The historic building is located in a semi-rural setting just a short drive from Junction 27 (Standish) on the M6 and dates back to the 1830’s.  It has been a hostelry, wheelwrights, blacksmiths, and now of course, a very popular restaurant.

Reflecting on the four years since they have been at the Corner House,  Ross and Helen are pleased with the success they have achieved: Lancashire Life’s “Highly Commended” Award as runners-up in the magazine’s Restaurant of the Year 2013 competition,  two AA Rosettes, and winners of TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for five years in a row.
